The team was beyond excited when we received the ENGINEERING INSPIRATION award on March 16th at the Magnolia Regional in Laurel, Mississippi. The judges at the regional recognized our hard work beyond building competitive robots. How we inspire others towards STEAM field careers in community outreach events, as well as how we use our learned skills to help our community through our GO-BABY-GO program. This award also earns you a spot at the FIRST Championships April 17-20th in Houston, Texas. It's an amazing opportunity to compete against the best robots in the world on the biggest stage in the world. We want to be able to send our entire team, so we could use some help to cover the costs of transportation and hotels. We are hoping to raise $15,000 during this fundraising campaign. Update: As of 4/8 We have surpassed our goal of $15,000. We will be able to send our entire team to Houston! We did receive a very large donation from an individual over the weekend which was an amazing surprise that we are truly grateful for. An update on costs: A motor coach to transport our 39 students plus mentors round trip came in at $17,800. Hotels for everyone will cost the team just over $5,000. We will keep fund raising with hopes to cover the teams admission to the Houston Museum of Natural Science, and maybe a trip to the Johnson Space Center in Houston if time allows. We Are Farmington High School's FIRST Robotics team known as "Rogue Robotics"
Every year we design and build a 125 pound robot to compete in FIRST Robotics Competitions, but that's only part of what our team does... We spend much of the year being active in our community. Whether it's volunteering, mentoring youth, or spreading excitement of STEM to kids of all ages, we strive to make an impact in our community every year. We also partnered with GoBabyGo. OUR MISSION Statement
Rogue Robotics was created to give students an opportunity to develop an interest in STEM and other team skills. The mission of Team 2987 Rogue Robotics is to explore the power of creativity and teamwork, to learn life and business skills, and educate the members of our community. Our goal is to spark a passion for learning, and creativity among future generations.
